Dear Marissa,

I've wondered before why we never stayed friends. It wasn't about drifting apart; you still live right beside me. It was more about changes in our surroundings. Night tag is still my favorite outdoor game from my childhood. I remember that I never wanted to go inside because we were having too much fun. It was a time when everything was simple - when you hid and ran and laughed every time, when you made strategies and alliances. It was a time that I will never forget simply because it was fun - extremely and utterly fun. I'll always miss it.

I remember playing at your house; you had that beautiful Barbie house that we always used. And we played in the backyard on the trampoline. We played Spud! It was always a good time. Always.

So I hope you continue to have good times. That you'll find your special someone if you haven't already and that you'll be happy. Because you were my friend and you know what, you still are my friend - my childhood friend. You deserve happiness because even after we grew farther apart, you still smiled at me and treated me with kindness. Thank you for that.
